While
mining companies large and small are spending millions of dollars
prospecting for gold in Northern Ontario, Rosalind Lockyer thinks
she has found the mother load. "Women are the hidden gold
in the North," says Lockyer,
co-founder and executive director of PARO Centre for Women's Enterprise.

untapped human resource will move the region's economy forward,
she adds. Through times of crisis, history has proven women bring
enough intestinal fortitude to drive towns, cities, regions and
even countries out from the economic muck to the well-travelled
road of success, she says.
