Our last Leads and Links Networking event featured Rebecca Johnston getting us all going with her interesting presentation on “networking with Flare”  We all had a lot of fun, met new contacts and thank all who attended.  These are becoming more and more popular and we are considering all comments from your feedback sheets and trying to work your requests and suggestions into future networking events both in
Thunder Bay and in the region.

PARO Leads & Links events offer networking and learning opportunities, as well as great advertising opportunities for your business with display booths available at each event.  Contact Deborah Poole-Hoffmann at graphx@tbaytel.net to find out more about how you can promote and showcase your business, product, or service at PARO Leads & Links.

Circles

We have had some requests from women wishing to join a circle.  If you have a circle and have undergone some changes or would like to add a new face to the circle, please give us a call.  It’s all about connections, renewing your circle’s spirit and forming new circles.  Contact sandraw@paro.ca to find out more about circles or to update us on how your circle is doing and how we can help.  We are eager to meet with circles in Thunder Bay and in the region, so, please,  give us a call!

Decide to Network

The below reading is from Rebecca Johnson's networking presentation at this past Wednesday's PARO Leads and Links.  We enjoyed it so much that we wanted to share it with everyone.
Thanks Rebecca !

DECIDE TO NETWORK

Decide to network
Use every letter you write
Every conversation you have
Every meeting you attend
To express your fundamental beliefs and dreams
Affirm to others the vision of the world you want
Network through though
Network through action
Network through love
Network through the spirit
You are the center of a network
You are the center of the world
You are a free, immensely powerful source
of life and goodness
Affirm it
Spread it
Radiate it
Think day and night about it
And you will see a miracle happen
the greatness of your own life.
In a world of big powers, media, and monopolies
But of four and a half billion individuals
Networking is the new freedom
the new democracy
a new form of happiness.

Assistant Secretary General of United Nations

  • Eliminate the "shoulds", only doing shoulds you will feel drained and lifeless.  List yours:
  • Unclutter your life:  List all that you can get rid of and make space for now:
  • Identify your needs, what must you have in place to feel successful?
  • Strengthen your strengths (& forget about improving your weaknesses!) List:

  • Stop trying to meet anyone else's expectations and start meeting your own, List:
  • Be radical and stop being good!  (Triggers from "Being Nice")
  • What lessons have I learned for the "bad" things that have come my way?
Underpromising makes you twice as creative/productive.  (Doube your time estimates) Saying NO more often allows you to:
  • What do I agree to say NO to?
  • What then am I saying YES to??
  • What structures can I put into place to remind myself about my new ways?
  • What rewards can I put into place to celebrate my successes?
WAYS TO KNOW YOU ARE MAKING PROGRESS IN LIFE'S WORK?
  • I don't have to motivate myself to go to work, or look for pep talks.
  • I make decisions faster because I know what does and doesn't work.
  • I feel more deeply about what I offer & have more energy for my life's work.
  • My client's recognize my enthusiasm and extra energy for my services....I am more available for my clients.
  • I have more confidence and feel empowered.
  • Money, time and energy are abundant.

Debra Joy Mueller, CPCC (Certified Professional Co-Active Coach), RN

Background:Professional Skater: Holiday on Ice International & Instructor

RN Executive VP, Medical Recruiters of America

Taking leaps...Debra Mueller left hospital based nursing in the '70s to skate professionally in the European Holiday On Ice show. Returning to nursing in the '80s and in 1991 she once again chose to leave a secure executive position, with International Medical Recruiters of America, to manage/book  and promote performing and recording artist, Michael Monroe, who's music is across the USA on PBS and in Canada's CBC in the Jim Brandenburg documentary, "Chased By The Light".

In 1996, they honored their love of natural surroundings and bought a small log cabin on the North Shore of Lake Superior...which evolved  into solar powered MisTree studio, where they live and create in harmony with nature.

Her natural love of the environment, energy and enthusiasm has attracted artistic (bead/pottery/watercolor/eclectic) and musical clients, wishing to enhance their presence in various markets, without compromising their values.  In addition, Debra's "risk taking and intuitive approach" to coaching has inspired clients who are feeling compelled to leave their 20+ year careers in retail, resort, hospitality/sales behind.

Coaching clients find the "daring edge", add value, success and fulfillment to their lives and enhance their innate ability to create their own dream. Debra maintains a part time coaching practice from the North Shore/Twin Cities locations taking advantage of the portability and flexibility of coaching where clients are encouraged to design the relationship and schedule- creativity welcomed!
