Principle #8 - GIVE YOURSELF TIME TO WIN
Successful people know that relationships take time.  They are built slowly, by multiple exposures, by the slow growth of trust and of mutual respect and a realization of shared values, over many months - at least - and often over several years.  They know there's no way around that.  Real intensity comes from shared experience, it comes from the sort of intimacy that is only possible after shared pain, shared triumph, and shared disappointments.  Winners understand that the only way to build dependable and profound trust-based relationships is to stay for the duration.
With their long-term perspective, successful people also realize that mistakes are not life-threatening catastrophes, but merely bumps along the long road.  They don't waste time and energy mourning their mistakes or obsessing about things that don't work out.  They don't dwell.  They don't beat themselves up over mistakes.  They learn what they can, they see what was useful, and they move on to other projects and goals.

"Enduring character is built with adversity and builds over time.  It isn't something you just acquire."

PARO’s advanced Business Accelerator program provides a flexibility of workshops, mentoring, business counseling, web and tele-classes to women who are already established in their businesses but want to ‘grow a little or shift a lot’.  This program builds knowledge, skills, capacity, confidence and resilience as a business owner, and each participant’s program is specially tailored to suit their needs.  Contact accelerator@paro.ca to find out how the program can benefit your business.

PARO's Accelerator project has been supported with a grant from the Canadian Women's Foundation Economic Development Collaborative Fund, a partnership of the Canadian Women's Foundation, CIBC, The George Cedric Metcalf Charitable Foundation, The Ontario Trillium Foundation and an Anonymous donor.

This project is supported by Industry Canada / Fednor.

Connecting You to a Fit & Healthy Lifestyle

Good Brrrrrrrrr…..Morning!!

Do you need to “waist” away??

According to Dr. Mehmet C. Oz and Dr. Michael Roizen, authors of YOU, the Owner’s Manual and YOU, The Owner’s Manual for Waist Management: “Studies have shown that waist circumference, not overall weight, is the most important indicator of mortality related to being overweight. Because of its proximity to your organs your belly fat is the most dangerous fat you can carry.”

So put away your scale and take out your tape measure!! If you don’t have a scale – great!! A tape measure is much cheaper!!

Wrap that tape measure around your tummy right at the belly button.  For optimum health benefits, a women’s waist measurement should be 32.5” or less and 37” or less for men.

If that number is a little too high – YOU know what to do!! Eat healthy (veggies, fruits, whole grains, healthy fats and protein) exercise (for muscle strength, cardiovascular endurance and flexibility) and reduce your stress levels!!

Make it a fit and healthy “waisted” year!! Get up and get going!!
