 Fueling Connections

A New Way of Looking at the New Year!

Position yourself in your mind at December 31st 2007 and begin to list all that you have accomplished. It is amazing how easy those things will become - because you have put it out to the universe that it has already happened! TRY IT!  (Courtesy of Roaring Women.com)

Setting Goals for the New Year Personally and Professionally

Our Next PARO on Wheels trip  is scheduled for January 23rd to January 25th .  We will be helping you explore “ Building A Road Map: Getting from where you are, to where you want to be.”

Discovery Forums and tele-learning sessions will be held:

Tuesday, January 23rd,                                      Nipigon/Red Rock

Wednesday, January 24th                    Marathon

Thursday, January 25th                        Geraldton

Places and times will be confirmed in our next article and we will send out invites to women on our Eastern Loop .  If you would like more information, contact mariat@paro.ca.

These series of  sessions are based on a time tested formula called “Sustainable Livelihoods” and can help guide you to evaluate where you are right now, where you would like to be and how to get there. Perfect timing for the new year! These workshops and networking opportunities are open to all women in the communities and surrounding region, and we encourage you to bring a friend. There is NO CHARGE, courtesy of our Funders.

Principle #7 - DO IT EVERY DAY
Whether it's inborn or learned and rehearsed, successful people understand a very specific and important aspect of dealing with others that many of us pay lip service to, but that they actually do.  And, that aspect, is valuing people.  They genuinely feel that another person's needs are as important as their own and they have a sincere desire to satisfy those needs.  It sounds easy, but it can be a difficult thing to do. It is an act of will for everyone.  Many of us think, when we watch people who are good at this, that it's simply in their nature.  But it's not.  It is a conscious choice that they all have to make.  It's the ability to go from the shining moments we all have, when we remember someone's birthday, to making it a way of living.  No matter what the systems are, no matter how they remember to stay connected and what they do to heighten the connections, they strive to satisfy the other person's needs as much as their own.  And it works wonders.
"I live by this everyday:  Every day you should touch an employee, touch a client, and touch a friend.  Don't ever let a day go by when you haven't done that, or you will be forever playing catch-up."
-LINDA SRERE

Connecting You to a Fit & Healthy Lifestyle

Happy New Year!!

Now think about those three little words! We all say them and we really mean it; but really how is it going to happen? What are you going to do to ensure that this is a happy new year?

There are a whole lot of things that are going to happen to us in this next year that we truly don’t have any control over.  Then there are the things that we have total control of; whether or not we put ourselves in our calendars to get our workouts in, what we choose to eat, how we choose to react to the things that are not in our circle of influence.

Instead of just wishing a Happy New Year to “you” this year – make a PLAN! What do you want to see when you start 2008? Are you healthier, fitter; is your stress level reduced? Whatever your goal is, start with the end in mind! Envision what it is that you want; feel it, see it, make it crystal clear in your mind. Write it down and then plan, plan, plan. A goal is just a wish unless you write it down.

Wishing yourself a Happy New Year is just that – a wish!! If you do what you have always done, you are going to get what you’ve always got!! Make 2007 the best year of your life, not because of what is or has happened to you, but because of the choices that you have made!

I challenge each of you to Make this a Happy New Year! You know what to do, take out your calendar, give your goal a deadline and mark in exactly what you are going to do each day to reach your goal! You can do it! Get up and get going!!
