Connecting You To A Fit And Healthy Lifestyle

Okay! I can’t believe it is November !

Which made me think – there is probably lots of chocolate, little bags of chips etc, etc at everyone’s home.

Does this sound familiar?? You have great intentions – no candy for you!! Then as the little costumed critters come to your door, all good intentions fly into the moonlit sky just like the witches of Salem ! As the kids come yelling “Trick or Treat” or when I was a kid it was “Halloween Apples” (which really makes more nutritional sense!!).You generously drop candy into their bags or pumpkins, wave them off and then as you shut the door you decide to have just one! Which would be fine; if you only had one or two children at you door, 10, 20, 30 or 40 become a little overindulgence!! You have been smacked by the one for them and one for me syndrome!! Now you’re feeling bad and you no longer want it around! You decide to drag anything left over to work on Wednesday to let “those other people” eat it all!!

Everyone has obstacles on their path to becoming fit and healthy; from making excellent nutritional choices to scheduling their workouts into their very busy day! Once you are aware of an obstacle (like the bowl of itty bitty chocolate bars), you make a plan, you come up with a solution!! There are NO EXCUSES – ONLY SOLUTIONS!!

There is nothing wrong with consuming the occasional chocolate or any other indulgence; but make sure it is a choice, not an impulse. IF you are going to have chocolate – make sure it is your absolute favourite chocolate, go out and pay the extra for it, sit down and savour every morsel!! Impulses tend to make us “get mad at ourselves” if we make a “choice” it usually feels good and we can just enjoy!!

Get up and get going – away from the bowl of treats!!

Serving as a model for microcredit and peer lending programs around the world, as of May, 2006, the Grameen Bank had 6.67 million borrowers, 97 percent of whom are women.
