Peer Loans and Mentoring Circles
Peer support, mentoring and encouragement are among the many things that women can gain from being members of PARO's Peer Circles!

PARO Peer Circles are groups of 4-7 women who are in business, are prospective entrepreneurs, or believe in women helping women. Circle members are also able to access PARO 's peer lending program for small business loans and become members of the PARO Board of Directors.

  • Are you interested in opportunities to meet with other fantastic women?
  • Are you looking for opportunities to learn and share business knowledge, to access a variety of perspectives and experiences?

If you are interested in joining a circle, or wish to know more about PARO's Peer Lending Circles, please give Suzanne a call or an email (loansofficer@paro.ca) and she will help facilitate connections with circles that may be a match for you.

You can download a copy of our Circles and Loans Booklet from our website.

What the heck is Facebook, and why should I be on it?

Facebook is a social utility that connects people with friends, business contacts and others who work, study and live around them. People use Facebook to keep up with friends, upload an unlimited number of photos, share links and videos, and learn more about the people they meet. www.facebook.com
In an effort to reach out to women who are on Facebook, we have recently started a PARO Group. This group is a great way to network with, stay in touch with and share experiences with other PARO women. It can also be a great place to promote your business! If the link above does not work, enter " PARO Centre" into the search box on the left.

Would you like to learn how to use Facebook to promote your business or your event? Or are you interested in joining the Facebook Group and are having problems? Contact Maria at program@paro.ca

PC Medic - Dr. Donna's Practical Computer Tips

Cloud Computing

Definition: The cloud is an umbrella term for products and services that rely on the Internet to function.

Traditionally, we would buy hardware (a computer) and install some software on it (like Microsoft Word).  So you have software that runs on your own machine in your own office or home. With the Cloud, the software and hardware runs on the Internet.  So, in simple terms, we can say that any software or hardware running on the Internet is Cloud Computing. Some Examples:  Most people already use Cloud Computing without realizing it.  If you access email online through webmail services such as Hotmail or Gmail, then you use cloud-based email, while Google Docs is a Cloud-based Office Suite.

Got a Computer Question?  Ask the Doctor dbrown@pcmedicsite.com

PC Medic is located at 1319 E. Victoria Avenue.  Stop in Monday – Saturday 9 – 5 p.m. for all your computer needs. No appointment necessary.

January's Thought - WORK IS REWARD NOT PUNISHMENT

Your success in any occupation depends on your enjoyment. Loving your work makes the difference.  If you enjoy what you do, you'll be successful. If you don't enjoy what you do, you won't be successful.
Your chances for success are directly proportional to the degree of pleasure you derive from what you do. If you have a job you hate, face the fact squarely and get out.  You'll never achieve real success unless you like what you are doing. Success in its highest and noblest form calls for peace of mind, enjoyment, and happiness which comes only when you find the work that you like best. You don't pay the price for success.  You enjoy the price for success.
