Business Counsellor – Industry

Business Counsellor-Industry is responsible for the development and delivery of a comprehensive, enhanced business coaching/counseling, training and mentoring program designed to increase productivity, innovation, and profitability for Northern women entrepreneurs living in urban, rural, remote, Aboriginal, and Francophone communities. Through PARO’s vision for enhanced economic security for women and families through business and job creation, this position provides you with an exciting opportunity to contribute to the long-term prosperity of Northern Ontario. 

 

You have the skills to:

  •  Coordinate and facilitate Cluster Innovation Tables to address the gaps and barriers that exist for women when accessing the procurement process in various sectors such as mining, manufacturing, MUSH (municipalities, universities, schools, and hospitals), and tourism; and

 

  • support women through workshops and counselling to make the connections, and complete RFPs so they can achieve increased access to procurement opportunities in the above sectors.

 

You have experience and knowledge in one or more of the key sectors identified above.  You are a team player, self-motivated and flexible, with knowledge and experience operating a business, a degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Management or equivalent.

 

POSITION REQUIRES: Regular travel to communities in Northern Ontario; a valid driver’s license with insurance; excellent interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills; written and oral communication skills; excellent analytical skills; and an ability to accommodate competing demands and meet deadlines.  French Language is an asset.

 

The annual salary for this position is $47,025.

 

This position is for the Women’s Enterprise Initiative project, which ends February 28, 2019.
